What would it look like if a month had its own brand identity?
What would it look like if a month had its own
brand identity
? That was the question we asked ourselves and couldn’t resist turning it into a team design challenge.
The rules were simple:
-
-
Each team member would create her own vision of September as a brand.
-
Every brand needed a unique tone—phrases and feelings that capture September’s essence.
-
And no matter the direction, one color had to appear: a shade of brown.
-
The results were a collection of mood boards, logos, color palettes, and tones that feel just as layered and nostalgic as September itself.
The Language of September
Our team’s brand tones capture the many moods this season holds. Some leaned into the cozy and comforting side of fall, others embraced balance and reflection, and some played with unexpected and witty twists. Together, the phrases read like a love letter to September:
-
-
Inviting & Comforting
-
Authentic, Grounded, Warm
-
Slow & Mindful
-
Earthy & Savory
-
Still & Peaceful
-
Safe & Content
-
Calm Reflection
-
Reset
-
Nostalgic & Familiar
-
Clever & Witty
-
A Season in Color
Brown became the grounding element—sometimes deep and earthy, sometimes soft and muted. Paired with each designer’s unique palette, it told a story of transition: from the sunlit warmth of late summer to the cozy richness of autumn.
Why We Love This Exercise
Designing “September as a brand” wasn’t just a fun challenge—it was a reminder of how much meaning we can pack into visual storytelling. Every brand carries emotion, tone, and identity. When those elements align, they create an experience that feels familiar, memorable, and true.
And really, isn’t that what September is all about? A season that feels both nostalgic and new—an invitation to pause, reset, and savor.
